Mission Hills

Mission Hills can be said to be the heart of San Diego—both geographically and historically. Founded in the late 1800s, Mission Hills over looks Old Town and San Diego Harbor and is just north of bustling downtown San Diego. With a population of approximately 30,000 people, Mission Hills boasts an array of bungalow, arts and crafts, Spanish Revival , Victorian and Spanish Revival homes . More recently, contemporary homes have become part of the fabric of the community. Some of San Diego’s premier architects such as William Hebbard, Richard Requa, Sim Bruce Richards, Home Delawie, and John Lloyd Wright have their names attached to homes in the neighborhood.

Kate Sessions left her stamp on Mission Hills as well and the stately trees and lush landscaping make the area truly desirable. Residents appreciate the fact that they can walk to the commercial centers around University Avenue and Washington Street where there are excellent restaurants, book stores and antique shops. They also treasure their ability to quickly access all parts of the city. Homes typically sell for between $400,000 and $3,200,000 while condos sell for between $300,000 and $2,000,000. There are several ultra luxury buildings with condos selling for more than $3,000,000.
